E-M:/ Off-Topic and Impermissible Postings on Enviro-Mich

Enviro-Mich message from "Alex J. Sagady & Associates" <ajs@sagady.com>

I've just returned from 10 days camping in Michigan's Upper Peninsula
to find a spate of off-topic posting and discussions on Enviro-Mich.

Please ensure that your postings and discussions concern
Michigan environmental protection, natural resources and conservation.

This is not a forum for general discussions on recycling,
corporate power, private property rights, what the Ruffed
Grouse society is doing outside of Michigan, big gov't vs.
big corporations......EXCEPT where this material explicitly deals
with specific Michigan environmental protection and natural
resource controversies (which also includes local environmental
issues in Michigan and Great Lakes issues). This would also
include the Michigan and Great Lakes consequences of industrial
and governmental Michigan plant operations on Michigan natural resources
and environment.

For example, general discussions of recycling are off-topic, but
discussions of recycling activities in Michigan are very much

Job postings that have nothing to do with Michigan/Great Lakes
are off topic

Discussion of internet resources which have no specific
focus on Michigan or no mention of specific Michigan
environmental protection and conservation issues are
off-topic, unless such postings contain very specific mention
of how such internet resources relate to Michigan environmental
protection and conservation.

Posting copyrighted materials is prohibited. Post a URL to
the material instead.

Posting purely private messages to the entire list that are only of
interest to those engaging in such correspondence is off-topic
unless it will be specifically of interest to the rest of the list

This is not a forum for generic discussion of consumer products.

National alerts must have some specific MIchigan-related content,
such as specific Michigan politicians who should be contacted on a
particular committee, specific impacts of such a national alert on
Michigan resources and environmental protection, or other specific
Michigan connection. The Michigan connection must be clearly
stated and not just assumed.
