Position Announcement

Land Programs Assistant

The Michigan Environmental Council (MEC)  a 19-year-old nonprofit
coalition of over 50 local, regional and statewide environmental and
public health organizations  is seeking to fill a Land Programs
Assistant position as soon as possible.


? Assist with coalition-building, outreach and grassroots organizing
? Plan and implement leadership training workshops
? Respond to information requests
? Manage databases and electronic listservs
? Help manage small grant program
? Assist with day to day administrative duties
? Assist with other projects as necessary


? Computer proficiency
? Work experience or educational emphasis in natural
resources/environmental policy or urban/environmental/land use planning.

? Excellent oral and written communication skills
? Ability to work independently and balance simultaneous projects
? Excellent organizational skills

Compensation:  Between $7 - $9/hour for 15 hours/week, depending on
qualifications.  Position is grant-funded for one year.
