Anne, let be real and face the facts....Senator Abraham is uneducable
on the environment. This is the guy who is one of the founding
members of the Federalist Society....that group of anti-regulatory thugs
that want to eliminate most federal environmental, health and safety, civil
rights and
labor protections and turn over all of this to the states to do little or
nothing
in most cases. The same guys whose members on the DC Circuit Court of
Appeals just trashed clean air health and cleanup standards.
The same guys would have been shouting "state's rights" in the 1960's in
response to the federal civil rights act and "standing in the school house door"
to keep schools segregated. Now they've cleaned up their act but the tune
is really just the same.... the rights of corporations trump the
responsibility
of government to protect its citizens, and the rights of government always
override the rights of individuals.
