To those interested in "Aquatic Invaders", airing August 14th CNBC, 3:30pm
Eastern:

The show focuses on the Great Lakes but does address this as a national/
international problem.
The following are a list of experts included in the show, along with
additional "special thanks" that were included in credits. Sea Grant is
addressed as we discuss education near the end of the show. In this
segment, we discuss a growing list of resources for those interested as
video is pulled up of the Sea Grant ANS Clearinghouse page. Chuck O'Neil
speaks before this. We then mention that state and Sea Grant programs are
helping to educate all ages. (showing a Michigan outing of kids with zebra
mussels.) A number of Sea Grant experts are interviewed throughout the
show. And, the Great Lakes Sea Grant Network web address is among the
addresses shown during credits. The following are the experts interviewed

I've contaced probably more than a hundred people for this show. Many
contacts came through show sponsor connections... others I met during
shooting sessions at the Great Lakes ANS task force meeting, the Duluth ANS
Conference, The MIT Marine Bio-Invasions Conference, and during a quest for
specialty video. I would certainly love to do more shows on this topic.
For a half hour documentary, I believed we tapped all the resources we could
possibly use, and more. I am quite sure that with the extent of this
problem, the information I have, and the experts we've spoken to, we could
easily have done 2-hours or possibly a whole series!! This is definately a
complex issue, and we attempted to involved as many people as possible.
Please call or mail if you have any questions about the show, or if you'd
like a complimentary copy. I hope the national exposure helps. We also
plan to work with the Great Lakes Commission to formulate a shorter piece
(with the tape we have) to send to news stations around the country.
