E-M:/ Time running out--Call Toronto--NO GARBAGE!

Enviro-Mich message from "Jeff Surfus" <jeffsurfus@email.msn.com>

For those of you with any interest in Michigan's increasing role as a
disposal site for the rest of North America, please take the following
simple action in the next 24 hours!

CALL 1-800-465-4056

As you may know Toronto, Ontario is considering Michigan disposal sites
operated by Republic and BFI as its long-term option for disposal of all of
its municipal garbage. Landfills in Washtenaw, Wayne, Genesee, and Monroe
counties will be considered.

In an unusual move, Toronto is seeking comment from those who are
potentially impacted by their decision. They have set up the above 800
number to solicit comments from people. People just call the toll free
number and leave a message.

It is crucial that as many people in Michigan as possible (not just from
those counties) call and let the decisionmakers in Toronto know that we
don't want to receive their garbage. You don't have to be an expert -- just
call and leave a message. Be angry! Be insightful! Be knowledgeable! Be
goofy! Just call!

Friday, August 27 is the last day they are receiving calls.

Please take a minute and call 1-800-465-4056 toll-free right now!
