Re: E-M:/ Abraham Greenwash press release

Enviro-Mich message from "Alison Horton, Sierra Club-Michigan" <sierrami@voyager.net>

Thanks to Thom Peterson for his note regarding environmental voting record
information. Some additional information:

The League of Conservation Voters, the bipartisan political voice for more
than nine million members of environmental and conservation organizations,
has published a National Environmental Scorecard for every Congress since
1970. The National Environmental Scorecard is the source the Sierra Club
uses when it documents environmental voting records of members of Congress.

According to the LCV Scorecard, Senator Spencer Abraham has voted for the
environment 3 out of 42 times for a lifetime score in the Senate of 7%.

The 1998 edition of the National Environmental Scorecard represents the
consensus of experts from 27 environmental and conservation organizations
who selected the key votes on which Members of Congress should be graded.

The League of Conservation Voters web page can be found at www.lcv.org
