Ebersole Center, Wayland, MI
(near Grand Rapids)

The Michigan River Network (MRN) is a statewide coalition of groups and
individuals working to strengthen and unify the voice for river protection
in Michigan.

The Ebersole Center is a nature and conference center near Gun Lake and
Wayland on 158 acres, about 20 miles from Grand Rapids.  The accomodations
are rustic (dormitory-style) but the setting will provide an opportunity to
enjoy the natural areas we are working to protect.  For those who would
prefer more "private" accomodations, a list of nearby hotels and motels is

The registration fees are very reasonable due to a generous grant from River
Network which has helped to off-set the costs of the event.

Directions to the Ebersole Center

>From Lansing (65 miles/1.5 hours): 
Take SR 43 W off of I-96. Go through Grand Ledge, Mulliken, Sunfield and
Woodland. Follow 43 W wherever it turns and jogs. Go through Hastings, still
following 43 W. 2 to 3 miles west of Hastings is a stoplight at which SR 37
goes north toward Grand Rapids. Go through this intersection and take the
next fork, M-179 (Chief Noonday Rd.).  You'll see a  large sign saying 'Gun
Lake 10 miles'. Also look for smaller sign saying 'Ebersole Center 14 miles'.
On M-179, go west 11 mi. to the third 4-way stop. This is Patterson Rd.
(Look for Amoco station on left, ice cream stand on right.) Turn right onto
Patterson and go 2 mi. to a left turn on 133rd Ave. Go one mile to a right
on 2nd St. (a dirt road). The Ebersole Center is 0.5 mi. ahead on the left. 

>From Grand Rapids (25 miles/30 min.): 
Take US 131 South to Exit 64, 135th Ave/Wayland. Go left at the top of the
exit ramp and drive 5.5 mi. (through downtown Wayland). Turn right on 2nd
St. (dirt road). The Ebersole Center is 0.8 mi. on the right. 

>From Kalamazoo (35 miles/40 min.): 
Take US 131 North to Exit 64, 135th Ave/Wayland. Go right at the top of the
exit ramp and drive 5.5 mi. (through Wayland). Turn right on 2nd St. (dirt
road). The Ebersole Center is 0.8 mi. down on the right.
