Sierra Club is hosting a workshop at the Mt. Clemens Community Center on 
Saturday, September 25 from 10:00am - 4:00pm to help citizens utilize tools 
and develop skills to stop sprawl in their community and participate in 
land use decisions.  The Mt. Clemens Community Center is located at 300 N. 
Groesbeck Hwy. on the corner of Lafayette - 1 mile south of Hall Rd (20 
mile).  All materials, refreshments and lunch are complimentary. 
Pre-registration is required.


Alison Horton, Sierra Club
Director for Sierra Club's Michigan Chapter and has been leading the public 
education campaign on sprawl and other issues for the past several years.

Tim Killeen, Southeast Michigan Group, Sierra Club (Moderator) Political 
Chair of local Group of Sierra Club.  Activist on a variety of conservation 

Julie Stoneman, Michigan Environmental Council (MEC)
Land Programs Director and an environmental advocate for 16 years with a 
specialty in land use.  At MEC she oversees the Land Stewardship 

Chuck Hersey, Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG) Director 
of SEMCOG's environmental programs with emphasis on regional planning for 

Ken DeCock, Citizen's for Quality Growth 
Macomb County Farmer and an activist on farmland preservation. Director of 
Macomb Conservation District.  

Doug Martz, Macomb County Water Quality Board
Chair of Macomb County Water Quality Board and a regional activist on Lake 
St. Clair and water quality.  Founder of Sludgebusters.

Vicky Kovari, MOSES
Community organizer for 20 years.  Executive Director of SWAN, a nonprofit 
housing group.  Activist with MOSES on urban revitalization.

Dan Farough, Sierra Club 
Conservation Organizer and Membership Involvement Director and has worked 
to promote citizen activism in a variety of grassroots campaigns.
