E-M:/ Appropriation Hearing - CMI Bond Spending

Enviro-Mich message from James Clift <jamesmec@voyager.net>

The legislature has resumed business after their summer recess. The
following meeting has been scheduled to address the next round of
spending authorization from the Clean Michigan Initiative bonds
authorized last year:

Joint Committee Hearing of the House Appropriations DEQ/DNR
Subcommittee and the Senate Appropriations Environmental Quality and
Natural Resources Subcommittees Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999 at 8:30 am
Room 351 Capitol Bldg.

* Clean Michigan Initiative Executive Recommendations

The administration is preparing an updated recommendation but the
information is not yet available. We expect the recommendation to
include the first round of spending for water quality monitoring, water
resources protection and pollution prevention activities. In addition,
it may include further spending for categories that were included in the
first round of appropriations earlier this year.
