EVENT: FIRST FRIDAY Speaker on the Environment

SPEAKER: Mary Beth Doyle, MPH, from the Ecology Center and 
  Rob Cedar from Hamtramck Environmental Action Team (HEAT)

TOPIC:   "Greening Hospitals:  Reducing the Environmental Impact 
  of Health Care" 

The medical industry is dedicated to improving health, yet hospitals are the 
third largest source of mercury and dioxin, two poisons that are known to 
cause health problems.  Learn how hospitals across Michigan and the country 
are reducing their environmental impact.  Mary Beth Doyle, will talk about 
pollution prevention in health care.  Rob Cedar, will talk about problems 
with the incineration of medical waste and medical waste disposal
