A Report on the election and its relationship to Humbug Marsh development

Those of us opposing the Made In Detroit Humbug  development enjoyed great
news this evening.

    Mayor Dennison lost by a 2 to 1 margin.  The new mayor opposes MiD and 2
ladies who also oppose MiD were elected to the council.  Sufficient
signatures appear to have been collected to either force the council to
rescind the rezoning needed by MiD for their current site plan or to call a
special election re: the rezoning.  The election is anticipated early next

    Pat Hartig, an out-spoken opponent of MiD, was elected mayor by "an
over-whelming margin."

The people in the communities involved with the Humbug mess have spoken
loudly and clearly.  Grosse Ile, while not directly involved but will surely
be affected by the development, has also gone on record as opposing the
