The U.S. EPA and Conservation Technology Center (CTIC) in cooperation with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality are sponsoring a River Stabilization and Habitat Restoration Workshop on December 1, 1999 at the Valley Plaza Resort Hotel and Convention Center in Midland, Michigan.

The workshop will present innovative site planning and techniques used in highly erosive streams with severely modified stream channels in watersheds with major land use alterations. It will cover stream rehabilitation techniques, effects of watershed management and stream alterations, enhancement of fisheries, habitat and benthos and fluvial geomorphic analysis of streams. The speakers will be Don Roseboom from the Illinois State Water Survey; Chester Watson from Colorado State University and Karen Cabbes from Cabbes Engineering.
