E-M:/ SB 205 coming up in the last couple weeks of session 1999

Enviro-Mich message from anne.woiwode@sfsierra.sierraclub.org

As you get done cleaning up the kitchen from Thanksgiving, take a minute to
work for something that would make a WHOLE lot of people thankful -- the
defeat of Senate Bill 205, the bill which seeks to override local control
  of agricultural operations.
A correction of an incorrect rumor in an insider newsletter in the Capitol
has made it crystal clear the Speaker Perricone intends to bring SB 205 up
for a vote in these couple weeks. It also, however, makes it clear that
the Michigan Townships Association, and probably the enormous outpouring of
opposition from key areas of the state, are having an effect on the bill's
prospects. There is a chance to kill this stinking bill, and your efforts
  are needed.
Take a few minutes to call your State representative NOW, while he or she
is still at home over break, and let them know that this pig's ear CANNOT
be made into a silk purse no matter how the Speaker, MDA and the Farm
  Bureau try.
Thanks for all you can do.
