Apparently MDEQ wants to move the ozone monitor  out of
Holland, one of the state's highest reading sites.... to a site in


      TITLE: Ozone Modeling Meeting in Detroit, Michigan

      ACTION SUMMARY: On November 18, 1999, Region 5 staff participated in 
a meeting held in Detroit, Michigan
      to discuss items related to ozone air quality planning.  The meeting 
was coordinated by the Michigan Department of
      Environmental Quality (MDEQ) and the Southeast Michigan Council of 
Governments.  Other attendees included
      various industry representatives.  Discussions included and update on 
recent court rulings related to the regional
      nitrogen oxide reduction rulemaking and the new standards, a 
presentation of ozone technical work being done in the
      Lake Michigan region, updates on the status of the MDEQ ozone 
modeling work, a discussion of modeling conducted
      by General Motors to evaluate Tier II/Low Sulfur, and issues related 
to relocating an ozone program monitor from
      Holland to Detroit.  The next meeting has been scheduled for January 
20, 2000.
