Macatawa Area Watershed Project
The Macatawa Area Coordinating Council, a cooperative effort among units of government in the Holland, Michigan area, seeks a professional Program Manager for the next phase of a nationally-recognized Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) phosphorous reduction project for Lake Macatawa, an 1800-acre lake and recreational harbor. With successful completion of the project’s planning stage, the selected candidate’s strategy will be to:
This two-year commitment with possible extension requires a Master’s degree in the area of Water Resources Management, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Limnology or a related field. (Five years or more experience in the field may be substituted for a Master’s degree.) Critical skills including group facilitation, public relations, marketing, oral and written communication and computers are necessary. Ideal candidate will possess grant proposal writing skills, experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), specifically ESRI ArcView, as well as knowledge of watershed, water quality issues. Experience with, and knowledge of, water quality modeling, especially BASINS, desirable.
