Enviro-Mich message from Terry Lodge <tjlodge50@yahoo.com>

Attention, all who love Michigan National Forests,
Wildlife Refuges, or Isle Royale: the Center for
Biological Diversity has discovered that Terry L.
Anderson, environmental advisor to George W. Bush Jr.,
has proposed to auction off all 600 million acres of
federal public lands in the U.S. over the next 20-40

This not only includes every National Forest,
National Wildlife Refuge, and BLM District, it also
includes every National Park and Monument. In an
interesting application of the doctrine of equal
protection of the laws, non-profit environmental
groups could bid on the free market against
corporations for these precious resources (remember,
in America, the poor and the rich alike are free to
sleep under the bridges). Naming college football
bowls after corporations has nothing on this. Anyone
for the Exxon Artic National Wildlife Refuge? Or the
Phelps-Dodge Isle Royale (for that matter,
Anheuser-Busch Wolfland)? How about the
Weyerhauser-Ottawa National Forest?

Anderson's proposal was published by the CATO
Institute and can be viewed at
