					Homesteading for Healthy Lives

How does one provide for the basic needs of a healthy life while enhancing
the quality of the surrounding environment? Do these not go hand in handů
Lake Village Homestead & Farm Cooperative together with the Michigan
Groundwater Stewardship Program are offering a series of hands-on
interactive workshops titled Homesteading for Healthy Lives. These
workshops offer people of all ages a learning opportunity on how to care
for the earth, air, water, animals and plants. Throughout the day
participants will take part in activities and discussions relating to
sustainable homesteading as well as farmlands, wetlands and wildlife
Participants can choose to attend on Saturdays April 8th or 15th and May
6th or 13th from 9 AM-3:30 PM. The workshops themselves are provided free
by the MGSP, but there is a $10 charge per person ages 8 and up and a $5
charge for children ages 7 and under to cover the cost of a lunch from Lake
Village and other Earth sustaining producers. You may choose to bring a
bag lunch for no charge.
Space is limited. For more information and to so reserve your, your
group's, or your family's reservation, contact Michelle Timmerman at the
Kalamazoo MSU Extension office by phone at 616-383-8830 or e-mail at
