On April 11 at 8:30 a.m. the Subcommittee to Examine Non-Compliance with
Generally Accepted Agriculture Management Practices (GAAMPS) will make its
report to the full House Agriculture and Resource Management Committee.
GAAMPS are the voluntary standards referenced in the Right to Farm Act
which, when complied with, exempt farm operations from nuisance complaints
and, as of June 1, will determine what agricultural activities, including
confined animal feeding operations, local units of government are
 preempted from regulating.

The meeting will be in room 308 of the House Office Building in downtown
Lansing. I assume that written copies will be available at that time, and
perhaps the report will be made available on the web as well. It is not
known at this time whether there will be any legislative recommendations
 emerging from the report.

If you can't attend, you may wish to contact the Subcommittee chairman,
Rep. Larry Julian at 517-373-0841 to ask that a copy of the report be sent
 to you when completed.
