Climate Change Conference on Michigan
On April 29, 2000, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 5, and
the Detroit Recreation Department is convening a seminar on "Climate Change
and Michigan: What Impacts Will It Have and What Can We Do?"
This two-hour event, being held at the Belle Isle Nature Center Auditorium
in Detroit, Michigan, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., will focus on a number of
climate-related topics. These include the potential impacts of climate
change on the Midwest and Great Lakes, economic and socioeconomic
considerations, along with what can and is being done in the region.
The seminar is open to the public and designed for business leaders, state
and local government officials, environmental professionals, scientists and
researchers, and private citizens.
