New on the Great Lakes Information Network <http://www.great-lakes.net>:
GLIN Redesign 2000
Catch the new wave on May 15!
--->> GLIN Site of the Month for May: Great Lakes 2000
<http://www.epa.gov/glnpo/gl2000>
Great Lakes 2000 is part of a binational effort to increase public
awareness of Great Lakes issues and events throughout the year 2000. The
Great Lakes 2000 web site, unveiled April 20, contains a Great Lakes
Calendar of Events, links to Lakewide Management Plans (LaMPs:
http://www.epa.gov/glnpo/gl2000/lamps/) and related sites. In addition,
in keeping with the Great Lakes 2000 slogan "The Great Lakes: Our Legacy
-- Our Future," there are presentations on the history of the Great
Lakes and a perspective on the lakes' future.
--->> The Pollution Calculator <http://www.elpc.org/polCalc/>
How much pollution is in the energy you use every day? Now you can find
out. This new application from the Environmental Law and Policy Center
of the Midwest enables you to enter in your monthly utility bill, pick
your utility, and the calculator shows you how much
carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide and sulfur dioxide you create, translated
into car trips, trees planted and other real-life examples.
--->> Revamped web site: National Wildlife Federation, Great Lakes
Natural Resource Center <http://www.nwf.org/greatlakes/>
The NWF Great Lakes Natural Resource Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan,
unites people throughout the eight-state Great Lakes region, the United
States and Canada to protect the world's greatest freshwater seas, the
surrounding ecosystem, and the benefits they provide to people and
wildlife.
