Enviro-Mich message from Ed Frye <frye@ctic.purdue.edu>

Long time listener, first time caller...

Regarding the periodic e-mich discussions on manure management, let me
simply suggest to readers that you look into a web site run by the
Conservation Technology Information Center (CTIC) which covers a variety of
ag conservation practices and is linked to a great many related ag sites.
The site and the related initiative can provide assistance in answering
questions such as that posed in a previous posting on cow manure management
in the US.

The site, www.core4.org , describes the Core 4 Conservation system of
agricultural management practices with the goal of better soils, cleaner
water, greater profits, brighter future. Core 4 Conservation addresses
environmental concerns in a manner that maintains or increases profits of
the farmer/producer implementing the conservation system. The initiative
also makes users aware of their place in a watershed and the importance of
sound agricultural conservation in effective watershed management.

If you have any questions on Core 4 Conservation or related agricultural
conservation, feel free to contact myself or another CTIC staff person at
765-494-9555. You can also visit our CTIC web site at www.ctic.purdue.edu
