PUBLIC COMMENT SOUGHT ON PROPOSED LAND USE
RULE CHANGES AT ROSE LAKE WILDLIFE AREA

LANSING--The Michigan Department of Natural Resources will
host a public information and comment session on proposed
administrative rule changes specific to land use at the Rose
Lake Wildlife Area on Wednesday, July 19.
Wildlife staff will present details of proposed rules for
the consolidation of land use rules and their potential
impacts to area users of the Rose Lake Wildlife Area and
other state game and wildlife areas in southern Michigan.
The meeting will be held at the Bath Middle School
Auditorium, 13675 Webster Road, Bath, starting at 7 p.m.
The proposed rules will consolidate several existing sets of
land use rules which regulate activities on state-owned
lands across Michigan, update and clarify current land use
rules, and possibly include new rules. As part of this
consolidation, the Rose Lake Wildlife Area no longer will
have its own unique set of rules, but will fall under the
jurisdiction of state game and wildlife area management.
Therefore, Wildlife staff would like to involve all area
stakeholders in this decision-making process.
Persons who register in advance will be given five minutes
to speak at the meeting. Individuals not preregistered will
have three minutes to voice their opinion. To register,
contact Sandy McBride, at 517-373-9313.
Written comments also are welcome. Please address comments
to: Penney Melchoir, Michigan DNR, Wildlife, Box 30444,
Lansing, MI 48909-7944.
