A reminder that the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality has issued 
requests for grant proposals for two pollution prevention programs: 1. The 
Regional P2 Grant Program proposals are due August 15 ($1 million 
available) and 2. the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program 
proposals are due August 31 ($500,000 available this round, additional 
$500,000 for a second round). Interested applicants are encouraged to 
attend the informational meetings briefing applicants on the programs as 
announced below. For copies of the RFP you may download from our web site: 
www.deq.state.mi.us/ead/p2sect or contact Julie Webber at 517/335-5543

Environmental Assistance Division (EAD) will hold informational meetings to 
brief applicants on its P2 grant programs, including the Regional P2 Grant 
Program and the HHW Collection Initiative. Staff will explain the purpose 
of these grant programs and also review grant selection criteria and grant 
management requirements. There will be a question and answer period for 
those who need assistance in completing the grant applications. The 
meetings will run from 9:00 a.m. * 12:00 p.m. at all locations except 
Marquette, which will start at 10:00 a.m., with a repeat session at 1:00
