Barry Conservation District, Barry Water Quality Action Committee, Michigan 
Lakes and Streams Association, and Barry MSU Extension are  partnering with 
W.K Kellogg Biological Station Land and Water Program to put on 
"INTRODUCTION TO LAKES" and "Shoreline Landscaping to Protect Water 
Quality." (What applies to lakes also applies to rivers, streams, and 

The three-part Lakes workshop is scheduled for Aug. 10 (session 1) Aug. 17 
(Session 2) and Aug.24 (Session 3) at 6-9 p.m. each day. Classes are held at 
the Barry County Courts/Law building in Hastings, Michigan. ($25) 
Instructors, Jane Herbert, Dean Solomon, Howard Wandell (MSU Extension).

The riparian landscaping workshop is Aug 26, Saturday, at W.K Kellogg 
Biological Station, Hickory Corners, Michigan, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Outdoor 
session, rain or shine. Instructor, Monica Rapaport (Barry Conservation 
District) ($35)

Both workshops ($50).
