Re: E-M:/ MSU's Proposed Carcass Incinerator

------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enviro-Mich message from "Alex J. Sagady & Associates" ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let's see, now...where are we....    The state wants
to burn tuberculosis infected cattle and deer at a new
proposed incinerator at a new veterinary laboratory on
the MSU campus.  MSU will also want to burn radioactive
animals from research in this unit.

However, fambrose@bloomington.in.us and ADAPTTToledo@aol.com
take the position that all biomedical, toxicology and life
sciences research at Michigan State University involving
radio-labeled compounds should cease (along with all other
animal research) in order to avoid the need to build a
carcass incinerator.

fambrose@bloomington.in.us and ADAPTTToledo@aol.com apparently
already understand that all of this MSU research is unnecessary
and they have the means to gain all of the knowledge that would
be lost if such MSU research were not carried out using radio-labelled
compounds.

Hey, fambrose@bloomington.in.us and ADAPTTToledo@aol.com must
be real smart guys....  I'll bet that no one at MSU or even
the University of Michigan knows how to do all that.....

But that is OK....  since fambrose@bloomington.in.us and ADAPTTToledo@aol.com,
by their objection to modern biomedical, toxicology
and life sciences research at MSU and UM, are volunteering you and your family
to be subjected to the unknown effects of chemical compounds, to lose
the benefits of modern biomedical and life science research to
understand and develop treatments for disease, etc. etc.

But.....I've never understood why the so-called "animal rights" movement
seems so intently to focus on university medical research involving
relatively few animals in the light of the far more massive pandemic of animal
destruction that goes on at McDonalds and Burger Kings everywhere else...talk
about priorities in light of ethics.   We'll just have to talk it out
over a BK Broiler....

Here Here.

It is good to hear voice of reason. There is no reason, scientifically or
ethically, to continue to test on animals. MSU, and all other institutions
like the government need to stop funneling money into this waste of a
program and get down to business of doing real research about how we can get
out of this profit mongering society of ours. Then we will never again be
faced with the question of where to burn discarded radioactive animals, or
even our trash.

concerned about a symptom and not the real issue. The real issue is if MSU
treats animals so callously, why would you expect them to care about humans?

people are second and other life forms are irrelevant. In my reality,
interspecies diversity and the laws of ecology are all-important and human

animals will be how they ultimately treat their fellow humans as well. For
proof of this I only need to mention the names Auschwitz, Belfast, and
Bosnia. You're fighting a deep-seated attitude of exploitation and
self-centeredness, not the location of an incinerator.

influencing where MSU puts the incinerator. And if you succeed, you won't
have to address this same problem - or ones similar - with MSU again in the
future.
