Ecological Website Development Workshop!
Saturday, August 19, 2000 10 am to 5 pm

Upland Hills Ecological Awareness Center
2375 Indian Lake Rd. Oxford, MI 48370
248-693-1021

Graphic Artist and web developer Jason Zamajcin, will be helping us create a
website for the Upland Hills Ecological Awareness Center!
Presenter:
Jason Zamajcin recently developed the website for the Michigan Department of
Natural Resources Education Division, and is eager to provide us with
education in this new media forum of knowledge.

This fun and interesting workshop will move us toward this goal by exploring
other ecological sites, getting ideas for our site, and learning some of the
skills necessary to set up and maintain a website. It is for experienced and
novice alike, for young to old, and for those interested in basic structure
of website development in general, or the EAC website specifically.

It is a great opportunity to learn more about this incredible way to share
information! And your ideas -- artistic, technical, organizational -- and
your enthusiasm and interest -- are welcomed.

$15 donation to the Center for the day (EAC members $10).
$  5 for people under 18 years
Bagels and tea will be provided.
Bring some food or snacks to share for lunch.

Upland Hills Ecological Awareness Center is located about 20 minutes north of
Pontiac, MI and the Palace.
Take I 75 north (past Pontiac). Exit on Lapeer/M 24 (Exit 81) and go right
(north)
past the Palace. Then follow one of the following choices.

Choice 1
Turn right on Silver Bell Rd. Go a few miles to the light at Adams Rd. Turn
left (north) and go to the dead end at Stoney Creek Rd. Turn right (East)
and go to the dead end on Lake George Rd. Turn left (north) and go a few
miles until you see the Upland Hills Farms (red buildings) on the left. Turn
left at that corner, which is Indian Lake Rd. Go 1/2 mile, past the yellow
school crossing sign, and turn left into the lane to the Ecology Center.
There are two large signs at the entrance.
Follow the signs back to the Center.

Choice 2
Continue north on M 24 through the city of Lake Orion. About 1/2 mile out of
town, turn right (east)on Indian Lake Rd. (as soon as you turn, you will go
under a train bridge) Continue 2 - 3 miles until the houses disappear, and
the scenery turns to woods. Pass the Upland Hills School sign on the right,
and then turn right into the Upland Hills Ecological Awareness Center.
Follow the signs in to the Center. ( If you somehow miss the Center
entrance, and you come to a dead end on Indian Lake Rd., just turn around,
and come back about 1/2 mile)
