     The Nuclear Free Great Lakes Action Camp begins
on Monday, August 21.  It'll be preceded by a host of
activities this Sunday, August 20. The Action Camp
will run throughout next week and will take place
about 15 miles outside of Kalamazoo, at the Van Buren
Youth Camp near Bloomingdale, MI.

     There will be many well-known safe energy
activists holding seminars and available to talk
informally, at length, with participants.

Directions to Camp:
  FROM THE WEST VIA 1-94 - Take the Lawrence exit,
turn left (north through Lawrence on Paw Paw St.) 3
1/3
mi. to CR 673; right 1 mi., then left (still following
CR 673) 4 mi. to M-43; right 4 mi. to CR 665 (flashing
yellow light); left 4 mi. to 15th Ave. (top of hill,
watch for sign to camp); left 1 3/4 mi. to stop 
sign; right on 45th St., Van Buren Youth Camp is 2/3
mi. on the left.
  FROM THE EAST VIA 1-94 AND/OR THE SOUTH VIA M-40 -
Take the Paw Paw exit, go north on M-40 (through Paw
Paw) 5 1/2 mi. to M-43 (flashing light); left 4 mi. to
CR 665 (flashing yellow light); right 4 mi. to 15th
Ave. (top of hill, watch for sign to camp); left 1 3/4
mi. to stop sign; right on 45th St., Van Buren Youth
Camp is 2/3 mi. on the left.
  FROM THE NORTH VIA U.S. 131 - At Kalamazoo, turn
right (West) onto M-43, go 15 mi.  to C.R. 665 
(flashing yellow light); right 4 mi. to 15th Ave. (top
of hill, watch for sign to camp); left 1 3/4 mi. to
stop sign; right on 45th St., camp is 2/3 mi.
on the left.
  FROM THE NORTH VIA U.S. 31 - From Holland, take M-40
28 mi. south (through Allegan) to Gobles; right at
the blinker light on W. Van Buren St. (CR 388), go 7
mi. (through Bloomingdale) to 45th St. (Note: 388 will
wind around, with 90-degree turns); turn left, camp is
3/4 mi. on the right.

   Kick-off Rally: Sunday, August 20 from 3:00 - 5:00
p.m., 427 E. Michigan Ave., downtown Kalamazoo (next
to The Depot Building and Kraftbrau Brewery.) No-Nukes
Concert is 7:00 - 10:00 at Bell's Brewery in downtown
Kalamazoo

   You should plan to bring the usual camping type
stuff, like:

a sleeping bag, blanket 
insect repellant
simple first aid stuff 
money, and a safe place to keep it 
swim suit, depending on modesty levels 
flashlight and batteries 
canteen, water bottles 
rain gear 
whatever you'll need for CD, if you're planning on
engaging in it
