Empowering Community Leaders to Address Contaminated Sediments

The workshop will highlight challenges to responding to contaminated
sediments and the process through which communities in the Great Lakes
Basin have approached the problem.  The workshop will review common
remediation options, major components of the decision making process,
and issues related to human health and habitat restoration.  Agency
representatives and community leaders will discuss strategies for
funding and building public support for contaminated sediment activities
in local water bodies.  The workshop is open to all interested parties
and is particularly relevant for community leaders, resource managers,
public officials, and citizens interested in learning how to respond to
contaminated sediments in their local river, lake or bay.  A $35
registration fee will include lunch and all workshop materials.
