For those supporting the Dems, the poll numbers from Oakland County must
be particularly encouraging.  A lead of 5 or 6 percentage points for
Republican candidates in one of the State's most Republican counties
signals serious problems for the Repubs.  If the Repubs can't even break
50%, they might lose Michigan in a big way.  It looks like voter turnout
is going to be the key to victory for eithr candidate.  Any one heard what
the turnout in Detroit is predicated to be?  Engler's big fear has been
that pro-voucher Detroit Democrats would come out in big numbers and swamp
the Repubs. with sheer numbers.
