DNR TO HOLD AUCTION SALE OF DEDICATED STATE LAND
LANSING--The Michigan Department of Natural Resources will
hold a sealed bid auction in December on seven parcels of
dedicated state-owned land being offered for sale. The
properties include:
* One lot on the northwest part of Beaver Island, St. James
Township, Charlevoix County
* One lot (0.12 acres) Ruck Plat, Caledonia Township, Kent
County
* One 5-acre parcel in Cherry Valley Township, Lake County
* One 10-acre parcel in Gerrish Township, Roscommon County
* One 13-acre parcel in Valley Township, Allegan County
* One 16.9-acre parcel in Leoni Township, Jackson County
* One 40-acre parcel in West Branch Township, Missaukee
County
The DNR recommends that all prospective purchasers do their
own research as to suitability of the property for the
purpose intended, and conduct a personal inspection of the
property being offered for sale.
The state of Michigan makes no representations or claims as
to fitness for purpose, ingress/egress, conditions,
covenants and/or restrictions.
The following information is provided for each property:
* Land Transaction Case No. 19990071-2 - Charlevoix County,
St. James Township: Lot 39 located on Beaver Island in Port
St. James Subdivision, Font Lake Plat. Interior lot.
Minimum bid: $3,000.
* Land Transaction Case No. 19930262 - Kent County,
Caledonia Township, T5N, R10W, Section 12: The SW1/4 of the
NW1/4. Platted Lot #35 of Ruck Plat (0.12-acres). Minimum
bid: $3,200.
* Land Transaction Case No. 20000173 - Lake County, Cherry
Valley Township, T18N, R12W, Section 28: The W1/2 of the
NE1/4 of NE1/4 of SW1/4 (5 acres). Minimum bid: $9,500.
* Land Transaction Case No. 20000175 - Roscommon County,
Gerrish Township, T24N, R3W, Section 2: The SE1/4 of the
SE1/4 of the NE1/4 (10 acres). Minimum bid: $24,000.
* Land Transaction Case No. 19990057 - Allegan County,
Valley Township, T2N, R14W, Section 23: That part of the
S1/2 of the NE1/4, lying N of M-89, except the W 1994.35
feet, also excepting that part lying below contour 618 (13
acres). Minimum bid: $116,000.
* Land Transaction Case No. 19990085 - Jackson County, Leoni
Township, T3S, R1E, Section 15:
The NW1/4 of the NW1/4 (16.9 acres). Minimum bid: $70,000.
* Land Transaction Case No. 20000174 - Missaukee County,
West Branch Township, T23N, R6W, Section 30: The SW1/4 of
the NW1/4 (40 acres). Minimum bid: $55,600.
A bid deposit of 10 percent of the bid amount is required
with each sealed bid. Bids less than the minimum indicated
or offers other than cash will not be accepted. The state
may reserve mineral rights and aboriginal antiquities on any
or all properties being offered for sale.

Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Box 30448,
Lansing, MI 48909-7948; 517-241-2438. Bid packages and
forms also are available on the DNR Web site at
www.dnr.state.mi.us.
All bids must be postmarked no later than Friday, December
1. The bid opening will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday,
December 13, 2000 at the DNR Land and Mineral Services
Division, 5th floor, Stevens T. Mason Building, 530 W.
Allegan, Lansing.
