The Michigan Environmental Council (MEC) is seeking a part-time Computer Services Assistant. The responsibilities of this position include:
- Assisting with the design and maintenance of MECís website
- Helping staff with software and computer problems
- Updating of databases and performing data entry
- Assisting staff with various administrative projects as needed
Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Access databases and web page design. Experience with Microsoft Office, graphics and desktop publishing software a plus. A demonstrated interest in and commitment to environmental quality is also desired.
Start: ASAP; 8-12 hours a week - Flexible

The Michigan Environmental Council (MEC), a coalition of over 50 environmental, public health, and faith-based organizations with almost 200,000 individual members, provides a collective voice for the environment at the State Capitol in Lansing. MEC serves as a clearinghouse of environmental information, develops public policy, educates the public and offers training and support to member organizations. MEC is currently fighting sprawl, protecting Michiganís water, lowering threats to childrenís health and promoting sustainable business practices, among other efforts.
