The LA times released a very imteresting poll on the public's view President
George W. Bush 's handling of the environment and of American's views on the
environment generally including data broken down by region which adds
insight into how people in Michigan view the Bush administrations positions
on the environment.  Among the findings, the poll breaks down the public's
view of Bush's actions on several anti-environmental actions his
administration has mad in the first 100 days.

Arsenic   56% disapprove of Bush (55% in Midwest)
Drilling Artic  56% disapprove of Bush (62% in Midwest)
Drilling Rockies  56% disaprrove of Bush (65% in Midwest)
Opening Nat'l monuments to Commerical use   65% oppose Bush (65% in Midwest)
Lifiting Ban on Logging and road building in 60 million acres of wild forest
58% disapprove (58% in Midwest)
Co2 Reversal 54% disapprove  ***45% (a pluarity) believe the reversal came
because Bush and his advisors are too closely tied to the energy industry.

Fuel Efficiency   55% in the poll supported greater fuel efficency for SUVs.

Bush Criticized as Fear for Environment Grows
Survey: Americans say pollution is worsening, and fighting it is more
important than creating new jobs.
