Restoration of lynx through timber harvesting? You'd think at some point the
Forest Service would at least get embarrassed selling this hogwash to the
public.

A fourth grader can surmise that logging was not how Lynx habitat was (or is)
created.

Are there any Michigan FS employees from the Hiawatha on this list who could
explain to us how timber harvesting will help the lynx????

LYNX RESTORATION PLANNED FOR HIAWATHA N.F.: The USFS has plans to
"bring back the threatened Canada lynx" on Michigan's Upper Peninsula
says mlive.com, AP 5/13. The plan features restoration of lynx habitat
on Hiawatha N.F. by minimizing roads, trails and paths to reduce
competition from other predators such as coyotes, creating wildlife
corridors, limiting snowmobiling and other recreation to "existing
developed areas, and using timber harvests, fire and other management
  tools to create suitable habitat.
