E-M:/ Good news about the Sprawling of America

Enviro-Mich message from Rebecca Williams <rmwillia@umich.edu>

Thanks to all who watched "The Sprawling of America" on Detroit Public
Television (Channel 56) this past Wednesday night, June 6.

According to the preliminary Nielsen overnight numbers, the show was the

highest rated, locally produced show ever run on WTVS!

Because of "The Sprawling Of America," Detroit Public Television
finished #1 in the Wednesday rankings for PBS viewership nationwide.
That means that on PBS stations, "Sprawling of America" was the most
watched show in any single city in the country Wednesday night.

Overall, "The Sprawling Of America" was the fourth highest watched
program in the Detroit Market. It trailed only NBC’s “West Wing/
NBA Finals” and Fox’s “Malcom in the Middle,” and part of ABC’s
“Whose line is it Anyway?” At 9:15 pm, "The Sprawling Of America"
was the third highest rated program behind NBC programming and a
CBS movie.

If you missed the broadcast, you can watch the documentary for free on
the Great Lakes Television Consortium's website at gltv.org. VHS tapes
of the program are still available for purchase for $39.95. You can
order online or call the GLTV directly at (734) 647-3497.

We're hoping to announce a national airdate in the near future.

Thanks for your interest and support!
