E-M:/ Friday Smog, Still bad at 10 PM

Enviro-Mich message from "Alex J. Sagady & Associates" <ajs@sagady.com>

For the eight hour period
ending at 10 PM Friday, the following Michigan sites are showing
ozone concentrations over the level of the new health standard:

Benzonia 92
Scottville 92
Muskegon 86
Holland 93
Jenison 90
Grand Rapids 87
Port Huron 96

It is probably that other sites will have
levels over 85 ppb for earlier 8 hour periods,
notably New Haven, Oak Park, Warren, Detroit, Coloma.

At 10 PM, ozone is still climbing at Scottville and
Benzonia with the highest readings all day recorded
in the last hour. Both of these monitors have had 1 hour
readings over 85 pbb since about 11 AM to
12 noon earlier today. As usual, these two sites typically show the
longest times over the level of the new health standard of any
monitors in the state.

Port Huron hit 126 ppb today, one hour average, which
is over the level of the old health standard.

The current ozone episode is expected to continue in
both west michigan and SE michigan on Saturday.
