E-M:/ State rules would allow toxic secrecy

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Enviro-Mich message from James Clift <jamesmec@voyager.net>

Below is the link to the Detroit Free Press story on the proposed
cleanup rules for toxic contamination. Especially telling is the quote
by DEQ Deputy Director Art Nash who, "said they're merely clarifying and
explaining what those laws mean. He added they've been allowing
self-regulation for the past six years, so the new rules don't represent
a change."

There's a surprise, DEQ officials admiting polluters have been calling
the shots at DEQ for the past six years.
