E-M:/ Dave Dempsey book signing at Border's Books in Novi on Sunday, November 4

Enviro-Mich message from Michele Scarborough <mec@voyager.net>

MEC's Dave Dempsey will sign his new book, "Ruin and Recovery:
Michigan's Rise as a Conservation Leader," at Border's Books in Novi
Sunday, November 4 from 2-4 p.m.

Published by the University of Michigan Press, "Ruin and Recovery" is a
history of Michigan's conservation and environmental movement. George
Weeks of the Detroit News observed, "Dave Dempsey has done for the
conservation wars what Bruce Catton did for the Civil War – deftly
chronicle the battles and profile the heroes." Eric Sharp of the Detroit
Free Press wrote, “Anyone who claims to care about this state's natural
resources and environmental health should read this book. Not only does
it provide a superb grounding about the wretched excesses of the past,
it offers guidance about what we should be doing now to insure that we
leave something for the future.”

Profits from "Ruin and Recovery" sales are contributed to MEC.

Border's Books Novi is at 43075 Crescent Blvd. For more information,
call Borders's at 248-347-0780 or MEC at 517-487-9539.
