ANN ARBOR, Mich., Oct. 30, 2001 ‹ Can pesticides hurt children? The answer is ³Yes,² according to Dr. Elizabeth Guillette, keynote speaker at the November 10 Safe Schools workshop presented by LocalMotion.
The workshop, titled ³How Integrated Pest Management Will Reduce the Need for Pesticides,² also features representatives from area schools who practice basically non-toxic pest control ‹ safely, effectively and economically.
LocalMotion¹s Safe Schools workshop, ³How Integrated Pest Management Will Reduce the Need for Pesticides,² takes place Saturday, Nov. 10, from 12:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Trombly Elementary School Auditorium, 820 Beaconsfield Road, Grosse Pointe Park, Mich. Dr. Guillette is a distinguished Visiting Scholar at the Center for Bioenvironmental Research at Tulane and Xavier Universities.
LocalMotion is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about the connections between toxic chemicals in the environment and negative health consequences, such as cancer, in southeastern Michigan.
