On May 1 from 1-3pm, the MSU Office of Recycling and Waste Management and Office of Campus Sustainability are cosponsoring presentation of "Communities Setting Trends in Waste Prevention and Recycling", an interactive broadcast presented by EPA's WasteWise program, National Recycling Coalition, and Solid Waste Assoc. of North America.

A forum panel will share lessons learned about their own government programs in waste prevention and recycling. Video clips will also highlight other programs around the country.

The viewing site will be on the MSU campus, at 88 Service Rd, in the Old Purchasing Conference Room. It's targeted to recycling coordinators, procurement professionals and facility managers, as well as to anyone who is interested in learning about successful approaches to waste prevention.

WasteWise is EPA's voluntary program for reducing solid waste. Its corporate, governmental and collegiate partners have demonstrated that through a combination of preventing waste, recycling collections, and buying recycled content products, they can reap substantial savings while doing good things for the environment.
