Southwest Michigan Watershed Community Expo
Wednesday, May 8
Open to the public from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
Van Buren Conference Center, Lawrence, Michigan

There will be over 25 exhibitors at the Southwest
Michigan Watershed Community Expo.  Come and talk to
the experts about how to protect water quality in your
community.   This is the perfect opportunity for local
officials to network and find out what others in
southwest Michigan are doing to manage watersheds. 
The watersheds of interest include all of the lakes,
rivers and streams in Allegan, Berrien, Cass, St.
Joseph and Van Buren counties.  The major rivers in
these counties are the Black River, Paw Paw River,
Dowagiac River, Galien River, Little Rabbit River, Gun
River, St. Joseph River, Kalamazoo River, Christiana
Creek, McCoy Creek, Nottawa Creek, and Rocky River. 
There will be information on groundwater, drinking
water, wetlands, rivers, lakes, land use planning and
zoning, agricultural programs to protect water
quality, conservation options for landowners and much

Exhibitors will include county conservation districts,
Michigan State University Extension, watershed groups,
Trout Unlimited, Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy,
Michigan Lake and Stream Associations, Michigan
Department of Environmental Quality (surface water
quality division), Michigan Department of Natural
Resources (fisheries division), League of Women
Voters, Natural Resource Conservation Service, Farm
Bureau, county health departments, engineering and
planning consulting firms and many more. 

These exhibitors will have information about available
resources and have experts on hand to talk about water
quality and land use planning issues.  If you have any
