Annoucement:  A St. Joseph River Watershed Conference will be held
on June 10-11, 2002 at the Century Center in South Bend, IN.  The
conference will highlight and promote bi-state and local efforts to
restore and protect environmental quality in the St. Joe watershed.

There will be a reception/poster/display session and dinner on June
10th.  If your group is interested in participating in the poster
session please contact Barb Wygant at 616-387-5870 or
barbara.wygant@wmich.edu.  Dave Dempsey, from the MI
Environmental Council, will be the keynote speaker at dinner. 
Topics to be discussed during the 2 half-day meeting sessions will
include agriculture practices, watershed concepts, geology and
hydrology of the watershed, water quality issues, pesticides,
atrazine, new science techniques, and more.

Note:  This is the St. Joe River that flows westward, through
Michigan/Indiana and into Lake MI at the St. Joe, MI harbor.
