Fisherman's Landing Tour of the Property

Note here that volunteers of the Michigan Anglers Association (formerly
Muskegon Steelheaders) and other fishers took several years to clean up the
property and build the #1 boating/camping combo in the state of Michigan.

At the entrance to the property are a boat preparation/staging area and a
crossing of the Shoreline Bicycle Trail. Directly ahead is an office, a fish
cleaning station with freezer storage, and a restroom building. Included in
the area is office parking, public access for bank fishing, and rest/viewing
areas with picnic tables.

Just west of the office, on the south side of the property, is a deep-water
channel and entrance to a 10-ramp boat launch, which includes an ADA
wheelchair lift. Both ramp and channel have ample room for several vehicles
and boats to maneuver simultaneously, safely sheltered from almost all
prevailing winds.

Continuing west, there is a 50x80 open-air pavilion designed especially for
tournaments, but also ideal for picnics and reunions. The shelter contains
several picnic tables and has enclosed storage at the west end. It is rented
by reservation to tournaments and the general public, but used by all when
there are no prior bookings. The surrounding area offers picnic tables for
rest, lunch and viewing, an oversized grill, and bank fishing, plus 80 feet
of wheelchair-accessible dock for boat loading and unloading. The dock is
also used for up to two overnight boat tie-ups for non-campers, at $10.00 per
boat per night.

The circular drive continues west then north to approximately 10 acres of
parking, with marked spaces for 240 vehicles with trailers attached.
Additional parking space, if needed, is available on the outer edges of the
property

All property west of the parking lot is a secured campground, entered through
a keycard-controlled gate at the northwest corner of the parking lot. There
are 36 standard campsites with water and electric hook-ups, fire rings, and
picnic tables-several have level concrete slabs and grills. In addition,
there are 6 group lots, each with varying capacities and hook-ups for 2-4
camping units, or 12-20 people. In the northwest corner is a rustic tent
area, especially enjoyed by sporting teams and scout troops. The campground
includes restroom and shower facilities, a playground, a small sunning beach,
and 200 feet of floating dock for camper boats. Cost per night is $15.00 per
camping unit, with monthly and seasonal rates available.

Returning to the gate and exiting the campground, northern and eastern
borders of the property are used for boat and camper storage, with rates
available by day, week, month, season, or year. The absence of overhead
cables or power lines within the entire launch and parking areas make it
ideal for out-of-town sailors who prefer to leave their masts up. At the
exit is a waste dumping station, free to the campers or $4.00 for all others.

Visitors to Fisherman's Landing are provided with easy accessibility, a
sheltered, deep-water launch, free breezes and bank fishing, spectacular
views, secured camping, and one of the best firework viewing areas on
Muskegon Lake.
