E-M:/ Holland Ozone is Level Purple

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Enviro-Mich message from "Alex J. Sagady & Associates" <ajs@sagady.com>
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

At 8 PM, Michigan DEQ's Air Quality Index shows 225 for
Holland....very unhealthful, Level Purple air
pollution....the highest category.

For the last 4 hours, Holland has showed ozone
air pollution over 125 ppb...and still increasing
slightly. In monitoring ozone episodes for
the last 6-7 years I cannot remember a time when
any site in Michigan had 4 consecutive hours over
the level of the old health standard.

Muskegon, Kalamazoo and Coloma are not far behind
with high readings there as well. In the last
hour, Muskegon has also hit 127 ppb...over the
numeric level of the old standard.

There appears to be extensive haze out today, but
PM 2.5 levels are not reported real time.
