On Wednesday (7/3), a non-ozone action day,  Cassopolis, MI had the highest 
peak
one hour average ozone concentration in the United States.

Imagery at www.epa.gov/airnow shows that SW Michigan and Northeastern
North Carolina had the highest 8 hour average unhealthy concentrations of
ozone in the United States yesterday.

Yesterday, the following 8 hour averages over 85 ppb were observed:

Coloma  108
Muskegon 91
Cassopolis  97
Holland  112
Jenison  88

Cassopolis went over the old health standard with 127 ppb, 1 hour average
Holland hit 125 ppb, 1 hour average, right at the old health standard
Coloma was a near miss with 3 hours....121, 122 and 124 ppb, 1 hour average
