Michigan's nationally recognized Natural Rivers Program brings communities together to protect the rivers that unite them. Sadly, this basic tool of river stewardship has not been applied to a stream since the Upper Peninsula's Fox River was designated in 1988. Now a grassroots campaign to designate two new 'Natural Rivers' is under way in Northern Michigan.
