Please cite a reference for this assertion. Nothing said by Senator
Stabenow on her statement before her vote against the further
authorization of the Yucca Mountain site suggested that removal of nuclear
waste would not proceed once the Yucca Mt facility is open. In fact, her
statement assumed that the removal of the waste would proceed when the
facility opens, and it was questions about the procedures for this that
led to her no vote.
