The Southeast Michigan Land Conservancy is hosting a free "Wetland Watchers"
program on Saturday, August 3, at 10:00 a.m. at the LeFurge Woods Nature
Preserve in Superior Township, Washtenaw County, just west of Canton. Rick
Simek, Supervisor of the UM-Dearborn Natural Area, will be leading the
program and will provide dip nets so that participants can explore the many
creatures found in the wetland.
The LeFurge Woods wetland area is on the east side of Prospect Road, 3/4 mile
north of Geddes Road. For a map and directions, go to www.mapquest.com and
use the address 2384 N. Prospect Road, Ypsilanti MI 48198.
To help plan for needed supplies, pre-registration is requested, but not
required to attend. Please reply to me by e-mail if you plan to attend,
indicating the number in your party. This will be a great tour for kids of
all ages!
Hope to see you there!
