When: Monday, August 19th, 6:30 PM
Where: Gibraltar City Hall, 29450 Munro Street
What: Public Hearing for consideration of Made In Detoit's application for a Preliminary Site Plan approval on its plans to develop Humbug Island and Humbug Marsh. The Council will ask questions and make comments; then comments will be welcome from those present. Please attend if you can.
Why: We do not want to lose this battle after almost 5 years, and being so close to permanent protection of this great natural resource. MID is in default of its loans to its banks, is in default in its real property taxes, and now has lost its proposed access to Humbug Island because Chrysler has a deal to sell the property to the County of Wayne for lease to the US Fish & Wildlife as a International Wildlife Refuge.
But, if MID can get this "preliminary" approval, it will endeavor to
spin this straw into a gold cloth --
whine at and cajole its bankers into giving it more time before the sheriff's sale.
We want to stop this tedious and dangerous debacle now.
