Please join us, Monday, September 23 from 4:00pm - 5:30pm in 317 Bessey Hall for 

China Through the Eyes of an Environmental Journalist  with Prof. Jim Detjen.

Jim Detjen is Director of the Knight Center for Environmental Journalism at Michigan State University.  Prior to joining the MSU faculty in 1995 as the Knight Chair in Journalism, he worked for 21 years as a reporter and editor at the Philadelphia Inquirer and other newspapers. He has won more than 50 state and national awards for his reporting about the environment, health and science. Between February and July 2002 he and his family lived in Tianjin, China where Jim taught journalism at Nankai University as a Fulbright Scholar.

For those of you who missed last week's inaugural seminar in the year long seminar series, "Sustainability: A Vision of an Alternative Future", Jack Rodzilsky gave a fascinating insight into sustainable development in disaster areas.
