Greetings Friends of Environmental Education:

PLEASE FORWARD THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION TO ANY TEACHERS, EDUCATORS , and NATURALISTS WHO MAY BE INTERESTED .....

FALL CONFERENCE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AND OUTDOOR EDUCATORS TO BE HELD SOON!!!

You can now find the Fall Conference Registration and Program information on line for the Oct. 17-19 Michigan Alliance for Environmental and Outdoor Education Conference, to be held at beautiful Higgins Lake, at the DNR's Ralph A. MacMullen Conference Center.

MAEOE is a friendly group of professional and volunteer educators interested in many aspects of environmental and outdoor education. The fall conference theme is "Weaving a World of Hope." Featured presenters will show how to incorporate EE and OE into all aspects of learning and living, will demonstrate how to use new MAEOE-sponsored tools to integrate EE into all K-12 subjects, and will provide hands-on learning experiences to build your own teaching, learning and living skills. The keynote presenter is Gijsbert van Frankenhuyzen, illustrator of The Legend of Sleeping Bear, the Legend of the Loon, and many other Michigan-based books. He will present sessions all day during the main conference day, and will engage learners in how to incorporate art into their appreciation of natural science and into learning activities for all ages. His evening keynote address is sure to inspire us all with renewed energy for our work in EE and OE. Other sessions will focus on global climate change, integrating EE with language arts and humanities, math and science-oriented learning experiences, service learning, and the benefits of outdoor education for lifelong learning.

The attached flyer has simple information which can be printed and circulated quickly. In addition, you can find the complete registration form (and conference program) at http://www.msu.edu/user/ <http://www.msu.edu/user/potterj> potterj
